What began as a small group of young people coming together to connect, learn, and laugh has blossomed into something very special: a thriving, supportive community for children, teenagers, and young people living with visual impairments.
Over the years, we’ve climbed walls at Hot Rocks, taken the wheel with Speed of Sight, mastered circus tricks with Sticklings, and even had a go at axe throwing—because, why not? From creative workshops to accessible sports and unique adventures, our varied programme is all about showing what’s possible and having fun while we do it.
But the Younger Members Group is about more than just the activities. It’s about confidence, belonging, and connection.
Every session is designed to be inclusive, empowering, and, above all, fun. Through shared experiences, young people form lasting friendships and a powerful sense of community that stays with them long after the day’s activity ends. For many, it’s the first time they’ve met others who really understand their experiences—and that kind of connection is life-changing.
We also know that supporting young people means supporting families too. That’s why we ensure that the group fosters relationships between families as well as just individuals.
As we celebrate seven years of laughter, growth, and unforgettable moments, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey—our young members, their families, and all the incredible people who’ve helped make each session happen.
Here’s to the next seven years of confidence-building, adventure-seeking, and friendship-making.
If you or someone you know would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
